Patrick J. Mason

Pat joined MIRA in 1998 because he was, and continues to be determined to improve the lives of people who suffer from various forms of mental illness.  For many years, Pat battled against a chemical imbalance that caused sporadic bouts of depression.  Thanks to the successful research into modern mediations, Pat’s life changed significantly.

Through MIRA, and their seminars and fund-raisers, Pat is committed to informing the general public about the physical basis of depression and the vital medical research being done today to help people overcome various forms of mental illness.  He is deeply committed to raising funds for research in the areas of: Alzheimer’s, autism, depression, suicide prevention, ADD/ADHD, memory loss, schizophrenia, chemical imbalances and other brain disorders.

Pat and his wife, Susie, have been married for 22 years and have two wonderful children, James and Kathryn.  He has owned his own business for over 36 years.  As a financial advisor, he specializes in helping families identify and perpetuate their family legacies, by redirecting assets to their family foundations that would have been lost to estate taxes.

In March 1999, Pat became President of MIRA and his goal is to elevate the awareness of MIRA’s research projects, and help remove the social stigma attached to mental illness, so that others who suffer from mental illness may also find an effective treatment.

He strongly believes that, we, in the private sector should provide funding for researching new ideas, techniques and medications.  It is our responsibility to help our own community.  He is personally committed to making the world a better place for those who suffer from mental illness.
